The journey of the Dutch national box lacrosse teams to the World Championships in Utica, New York, has begun! There, from September 20 to 29, 2024, the sixth men's tournament and the first ever women's WC will take place.

While box lacrosse is an established sport in North America with players enjoying ample funding, in Europe, the sport is still developing. Players on the Dutch teams have full-time jobs (or are students) and dedicate all their free time not only to training, but also to organizing Dutch box lacrosse from the ground up, with very little structural support. Additionally, they take full responsibility for financing their trip to Utica, other tournaments, and all expenses related to equipment, clothing, and training.

As representatives of the Netherlands, our players are expected to train and perform like top athletes – and they are incredibly motivated to do so – but they lack the resources to do this without financial and organizational worries. Donations to cover at least some of the expenses are therefore greatly appreciated!
